Tracing Mobility: Cartography and migration in networked space

Sounding Underground will have an installation at this event, and a presentation in the Open Platform, on November 27th, at 2:00pm.

Very interesting projects that invite us to reflect on place and the traces left, in memories, smiles, silences, all over the world. It would be a treat for those living or passing by Berlin.

Festival Internacional de la Imagen

Sounding Underground participated in the Festival Internacional de la Imagen organised by the Faculty of Design at the Universidad de Caldas in Manizales, Colombia. This is a great International event which I would like to attend personally next year. I felt proud of participating for the second time. First with the Interactive Sonic Environment – London, and this second year with Sounding Underground – London, Mexico and Paris.

Riders on the train – Exhibition

Sounding Underground will make its debut in the “Riders on the train” exhibition in the Axiom Gallery for Experimental and New Media in Boston, MA. London, Paris and México will encounter Boston’s commuters ‘ experience and other commuters’ experiences from the world!

“Curated by Nance Davies

“RIDERS on the TRAIN” is an interdisciplinary art exhibition exploring new relationships between artist, audience, site, and context. Drawn from an international call for submissions, these artists and writers explore ‘the private within the public’ experience of mass-transit in Sweden, Australia, South Africa, India, Switzerland, NYC, London, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Mexico City, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, LA, DC, Portland, and Boston. The poetics of acceleration, compression, fragmentation and sensory immersion are explored as the artists record, collaborate, and devise small scale tactical interventions – juxtaposing high with low technology. ‘Riding Artists’ sample their ‘ride’ and generate an aggregate description of the mass-transit experience through a diversity of lenses and media including video, sound art, photography, web-based interactivity, performance, installation and writing. ”
